Chris Bishun, FCA (OB 1994-2001) has been recognised as a rising star in the world of Private Asset Managment, having been featured in The 2021 PAM Top 40 Under 40, sponsored by Jupiter Asset Management. Inclusion is based on PAM Insight's experience and knowledge of who is rising to the top quickly, and why.

Factors taken into account included the reputation or performance of the company that the nominee works for, feedback from senior executives, trajectory of promotion/business development success and relative age, and active involvement in promoting good organisational culture.

Chris, Investment Solutions Director at Brooks Macdonald was described by one nominator as “a true leader” within the business and his 'winning profile' reads as follows:

His experience as a funds specialist preceded him when he joined Brooks Macdonald in 2020, and he has already made a strong impression on the business, presenting to the executive committee on a regular basis around how he is building out the investment solutions business.

He has taken ownership of the investment solutions offering, working through procedural documents and construction of sales aides alongside raising the profile of Brooks Macdonald.

The executive committee also tasked Chris with leading on strategic partnerships for the business, setting out a plan of action and timelines, an area that is seeing good traction.

He also set up and chairs a committee in Jersey to ensure alignment across BM’s UK and International businesses.

Chris is working with an online mental healthcare and wellbeing service, Dr Julian, providing guidance from a business perspective as well as input around some of the challenges for those in the asset management industry. He also works with Greenwich University on a mentoring project with business students.

Many OBs will fondly remember Chris's father, Len, who taught at the school for many years.

Chris has signed up on the OB Portal to be a mentor, so if any younger OBs are looking for a guiding hand, please get in touch with the Development Office.
