Every kilometre counts. Every donation matters.
Race Across the Globe is more than just an event; it's a chance for our Brentwood School community to come together and make a lasting impact. This landmark initiative is dedicated to raising vital funds for the Brentwood School Foundation, ensuring life-changing bursaries are available for talented young people.
Your participation and support will directly contribute to providing opportunities that transform lives. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference.
What is Race Across the Globe?
Inspired by our celebrated House events, Race Across the Globe is a mass participation challenge that combines the spirit of community with athletic endurance. Together, we aim to go the distance across the globe through collective effort - and raise awareness for our bursary programme.
Whether you're an Old Brentwood, a parent, a student or a friend of the School, we invite you to take part. Every kilometre swum, cycled or run will contribute to our accumulative effort.

I am taking on a sprint triathlon during Brentwood's new Race Across The Globe event to raise funds for bursaries for well deserving students to have an opportunity at the school. I am determined to do well so to prepare, I am training on the treadmill and static bike in the gym at least twice a week and swimming once a week.

I am swimming a Half Iron for Brentwood School’s Race Across the Globe so that every step, every stroke, every spin I make, someone else gets the same chance to start their journey too.

I’m lacing up my running shoes to take on a 10km challenge during Race Across the Globe, all for bursaries at Brentwood, to give talented students the opportunities that Brentwood School has to offer, no matter their financial background.

There are lots of things that make Brentwood such a special community. One of them is our bursary programme, which gives ambitious and talented young people access to a transformative education that simply would not be possible without financial support.

I'm committing to running 10km because of how much I have benefitted from receiving a bursary at Brentwood. Studying in classrooms with high aspiring students has really motivated me to always want to achieve higher than what I expect of myself.

I'm taking on the challenge of cycling 20km, because as an Old Brentwood who is now back on the staff side, I see first-hand the transformative impact a Brentwood education can have.

I’m organising Ride Essex during Race Across the Globe to help raise vital funds for Brentwood School bursaries. The ride will be a loop of Essex something like the route shown below. It is planned to be approx. 100 miles and will take in several coffee stops on the way.

I’m excited to push myself further than ever - swimming 3,860 metres (the length of 38 football pitches) in one go - to raise money for bursaries and help give more students the opportunities I’ve been lucky to have.

Brentwood Bursary Student (U6th)
“I'm committing to running 10km because of how much I have benefitted from receiving a bursary at Brentwood. Studying in classrooms with high aspiring students has really motivated me to always want to achieve higher than what I expect of myself, and the school's Old Brentwoods have supported and given me advice for post-18 education. Not only that, but the school's exceptional sporting facilities have also given me the tools I need to develop and succeed as an athlete.”
"There are lots of things that make Brentwood such a special community. One of them is our bursary programme, which gives ambitious and talented young people access to a transformative education that simply would not be possible without financial support. The statistics are impressive - well over 100 children benefit from means-tested bursaries at Brentwood - but the real impact can be seen through the stories of our award holders, who shine brightly in our school and go on to achieve great things. Above all, however, we know they will pay back the support they received at Brentwood in all manner of ways and places. Our students learn the importance of doing good in the world, not just well in their exams, and our bursary award holders lead the way. That's the real gift of the Brentwood School Foundation. Thank you for supporting us, however big or small your contribution may be. It's very much appreciated."
