Brentwood School Reaches the Other Side of the Globe in Record-Breaking RATG 2026

Race Across the Globe (‘RATG’) was devised and launched in 2025 on the premise it felt like a very authentic ‘Brentwood School way’ to deliver a whole community fundraising day. The inaugural edition was well received and showed there was appetite for the format of combining; sport, House competition, volunteering, fundraising, and mass participation. A sequel is always hard to get right, but I am so proud to say that RATG 2026 proved to be even bigger and better than the original!

We raised more money for bursaries, more miles were accumulated, more people across the School community got involved, more exceptional challenges were completed, and more events happened across the day. So thank you to everyone who was involved, whether on site or sponsoring from afar, it took a mammoth effort and mass collaboration to make it such a special day. Even the weather played ball, not a drop of rain, then sunshine and blue skies from early afternoon. 

A few facts and figures from the day:

• We managed 20,354km as a community - that means we officially reached the other side of the globe; the "antipode", which is approximately 20,015km across the Earth's surface.
• The winning House for distance was North (their distance alone reached Cairo, Egypt), followed by ‘Prep United’ (reaching Gran Canaria, Canary Islands) and Weald (Moscow, Russia) in third .
• The winning House for fundraising was West (who raised a quarter of the total money on their own!), followed by School in second and North third - in total we have raised over £22k (and counting - you can still donate!)
